In the early days of porno, a lot of the stuff released had a European theme. This was partly to circumvent obscenity laws in New York where straight hardcore was strictly forbidden. They did this by making the videos with an instructional or “medical” angle to them and a lot of the titles were European sounding. They also had subtle branding in the loops whereby the female actors always donned silk scarfs and garter belts.
